Best WordPress Management Software

Looking for free tools to help manage WordPress installations from one dashboard?

WordPress is the most popular blog platform around the world. Everyday we can see a lot of wordpress based websites and blogs on the internet. People use WordPress to build all kinds of websites. No matter it’s a personal blog, a travel log, hobby website, or online business portal, WordPress is the first choice for many bloggers, web marketers, website masters and administrators. With the booming of WordPress, the multiple blog management issue becomes more and more important. As webmasters may find themselves busy with many wordpress websites or accounts management in their daily work. There are just so many wordpress sites or blogs to develop and maintain. If you have many wordpress accounts or blogs, it takes a lot of time switching from one WordPress to another. Being a WordPress site owner, if you have a lot of wordpress blogs and have this problem about effective WP management, you need an easier WordPress management software for managing multiple WordPress sites.

WordPress Management App for PC

Windows Live Writer from Microsoft makes blogging a breeze. You can add photos and videos, format everything just so, and publish to most blogging platforms including WordPress. It is an old blog management tool that is compatible with many other blog systems and platforms, such as Windows Live Spaces, SharePoint blogs, Blogger, LiveJournal, TypePad, Telligent Community, PBlogs.gr, JournalHome, the MetaWeblog API, the Movable Type API, Blogengine, Squarespace, etc. (Some of these blogging and social networking platforms are already out of service nowadays.)

WordPress users can download and use Windows Live Writer as the blog management console on their desktop computers. It is compatible with main Windows systems, including the Windows 7 and latest Windows 8. Not only amateurs, but also professional bloggers are using this wordpress management service for their daily blogging needs.

Windows Live Writer can help bloggers manage multiple WordPress blogs and other third party blogging sites and platforms in the same dashboard. To swtich between different WordPress sites is just as easy as simple clicks. You do not have to go through the authentication process once a WordPress is configured with this WordPress management tool.

Best of all, the Live Writer is a completely free blog management software. So just feel free give it a try.

WordPress Management Tool for Mobile

If you prefer not to download or install any WordPress management software or you want to use and organize WordPress blogs on the go with a mobile device, you can go for ManageWP. This is a commercial wordpress plugin for easy multiple wordpress blogs organization and management under one dashboard. ManageWP is available in free/paid solution. With this WordPress Management plugin, you can add and organize up to 5 wordpress sites for free. If you need to manage more WP blogs, you need to subscribe for a commercial package.

For individual bloggers, you can choose the Standard package which comes with features such as One-click updates, One-click login to any dashboard, Install & manage plugins & themes, Manual backups, iOS and Android app, etc. The Professional package is the wordpress management service suitable for small business, marketers, web developers. Additional features included in this WordPress management package are the Scheduled backups (including to Amazon S3, Dropbox, Google Drive), Clone wizard, Client reports, Google Analytics integration. Large businesses, SEO companies and web marketing companies can purchase their Business package for WordPress management and advanced services such as Comprehensive SEO Analysis, Search Engine Ranking Tracker, Uptime Monitoring, etc. It does far more than a WordPress management tool could.

A problem I have found with ManageWP is that, it does not accept some WordPress blogs. I can’t add some of my WordPress sites. I tried to add three different WordPress site, only one had been added to ManageWP. The other two WordPress sites are up and running, can log in from web browsers with the same username and password just fine. ManageWP keeps asking me to check my username and password though. I even tried to change the password without help.

Not only the configuration isssue, but also the management console at ManageWP that I don’t like. In terms of user interface, I found the ManageWP Dashboard a bit busy. The management dashboard with ManageWP is quite identical like the official one but in a smaller interface. The free version provides limited features and pricing for a commercial package is a bit higher than that I expected.

So personally I do not recommend ManageWP to WordPress bloggers and those looking for a WordPress Management Tool for Mobile, as this WordPress management plugin doesn’t seem to be an appealing solution.
