To promote hot products on your site, you may think of image sliders on your home page, product pages and category pages. Export image frames from a video using Photoshop
We know that a video is consisted of image frames and background sound. Photoshop can help us select and extract any image frames from a video. Launch the Photoshop. Go to File > Import > Video Frames to Layers…., then find and try to open the source video file.
After that you will get the ‘Import Video to Layers‘ settings screen where you can choose the range to import. For example, you can choose to import from beginning to end or select a range only.
If the source video is very long, use the trim controls below the video to specify the range to import and you can also limit to import every 2, 3 or more frames. Photoshop will then make layers from the video frames. Go to the Layers at the lower right corner of Photoshop, you can find only the first layer is visible. You can click the Lock icon before a layer to preview the picture. Once you have found the frame you like to save. Click to select and make it the current layer, also make sure it is the only visible layer. Click File > Save As …., then choose a output folder, file name, file format and proceed to export the image from video in Photoshop. You can tweak the settings to compress the image, choose file quality, file size during the image exporting process.
Go to find the extracted image frames in File Explorer on your PC and open it with Photoshop, web browser or other image tools to preview it. If the source video is a 1080p HD video, the extracted images will also be 1080p, the same size as the video. If need, you can also load the images to Photoshop or other image editors you have and edit them before publishing to your site.
Converting video to pictures alternatives
If you do not have Photoshop, there are many alternatives you can try. For example, you can take a video snapshot in Windows Movie Maker. This free tool however will cause image quality loss.
