You can find IP address via cPanel if you want to point your domain dns records to it, such as pointing A records. Find the shared server IP address so you can point DNS records from your domain registrar to web host. If you do not want to point DNS name servers, you have to configure the dns records.
Step 1. Log in cPanel with your username and password.
cPanel is the best web server management tool. Many webhosting companies provide their hosting customers with cPanel for website, domain, database and email management. These web hosts include Bluehost, Justhost, Hostgator, FatCow, WebHosting Pad, Inmotion hosting and many more.
Step 2. Click Expend Stats option to view the IP address
You will then find your Shared IP address in cPanel. If you can’t see the Expend Stats, most probably it has already been expended. If you still can’t locate the IP address of your server, try to scroll down the browser window and/or maximize the window. As your browser window might not be large enough to display all info.
Normally if your domain was purchased with your web hosting as well, you don’t need to edit its name servers or dns records. If you registered the domain with a third party registrar and want to host it with your web host, you can either change the names servers from your registrar to your hosting or simply update its dns records to point it to your web server IP address. A good example is this web hosting review site, the domain is registered with GoDaddy, but the site is hosted with Bluehost. Here is guide about how to point domain name from GoDaddy to Bluehost. Finding the shared IP address via cPanel can help you redirect domains from your registrar to your web host.
Note that this server IP is not a dedicated IP address, you can’t directly browse your website via the IP address. It is a shared IP address of the server where your hosting account installed on. Many shared web hosting services offer only free shared IP addresses. If you like to get your own dedicated IP address, you might need to pay separately. Some advanced shared hosting packages might also include free dedicated IP. Contact your web host if you are not sure of it.
