1. You are welcome. Sorry for the late response.
It should not cause any crawling troubles for search engines. Because crawler-based search engines, like Google, will send spider or crawler to visit a web page, reads it, and then follows links to other pages within the site. It will NOT scan your web files and folders saved on server disk directly.

The backup will include all your contents and folders, like emails, web files, database, in your hosting account. They will be saved to another drive or server, so in case of hardware failure, you can recover data from the backups saved separately. As to the backup schedule or time, normally web hosts offer daily backups, weekly and monthly incremental backups.

      1. the starter plan allows only one site in the same account. you can buy extra domains, however they can only be pointed to the same folder on your web server. that’s to say, all your domains pull up the same site when browsing them using a browser.

  2. You can add a new WordPress site to your hosting account without causing problems to the main or default site in the same hosting account. Following are some tips you may find useful:
    1. follow above guide to add the extra domain to your hosting control panel, make sure to select or create a new folder or directory which is separate from the website folder of your main domain or site. Do not create a sub-folder in the website folder of your main domain or site.
    2. Bluehost offers WordPress auto-installer, you can refer to this guide to create a WordPress blog with them. During this process you will have the chance to select the new domain for this new WP blog or site. You can also choose to manually create a WP site with them.

to sum up, you need to create a separate folder, add a new add-on domain and point it to the new folder, then install your WP blog in this new folder which is linked with the new domain.

    1. Matt, this is really helpful, thank you! So, if I wanted to do 2 WP blogs on totally different topics, I could still use my same Bluehost (basic) acct without add’l charge if I do what you suggest here? (I’m “Not an IT Person” but I try ;’). THANK YOU!

    2. Hi, not sure my earlier comment actually went through. First, I complimented you for the great article! And then Matt, I as a Non-IT person was asking, does your comment above mean that I, even with a basic Bluehost acct, could have 2 WP blogs on totally different topics following your guidelines here? And again, thank you!

        1. The heading says “Host multiple domains and websites with Bluehost no extra fee” but you appear to be saying that that is not possible with a basic account is that correct? I have just purchased a second website with Bluehost but it appears I cannot set it up independently of my original website without linking both names together in the web address.
